The Pickering Post
Thursday, 13th December 2018

If you would like to be involved or support the upkeep and further development of this site, it would be very welcome no matter how small.

Larry Pickering

Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.

The unrelenting, concerted hacking of the Pickering Post site since the 12-part series exposing halal certification, has been frustrating for all posters. I have been unable to explain what steps were being taken to defeat these opponents of free speech without alerting them to what was being done to defeat them.

The site lost many posters and contributors but I wish to sincerely thank all those who stayed with the site despite the difficult and frustrating conditions.

Many regular posters were blocked from contributing by the hackers using "brute force" and hijacking usernames from the back-end with foul material being posted under regular posters’ names and avatars.

Unfortunately, banning the hackers also meant banning the legitimate posters, which was obviously the hackers’ destructive intention.

I felt it was essential (to the extent it was possible) to try to keep the site going as normal while the problem was being attended to.

After six weeks’ work, a new site has now been built and all data has been transferred (apart from some historical comments and the avatar ribbons). The old site will stay operable for a while and will eventually point to the new site.

Apologies to all for the time involved, but over 10,000 log-in details of posters had to be quarantined from the hackers and transferred to the new site.

There will obviously be a few bugs arise with the new site and they will be fixed as we go but the new encryption and dedicated remote server will ensure the hackers are dead in the water.

In fact had they been smarter they could have done irreparable damage, so it was imperative not to give them any information in the process of trying to explain the situation to you.

I am also trying to include some new features like “Ask Alice” and other stuff.

All those who were banned please log in again. All posters should log in again anyway using the security "captcha" under whatever name and details you like. In future all trolls and hackers will be immediately recognised and banned without compromising legitimate posters.

Paypal details were always protected and were not compromised at any time.

Thank you for staying with me and a huge ‘thankyou’ to my loyal unpaid contributors who were instrumental in, and very much a part of, the recent International Bloggers Award for New Zealand and Australia, and a particular ‘thank you’ to all the posters who help make this site what it was meant to be... a platform for free speech.

Your comments are always entertaining, incisive, knowledgeable and sometimes rude, but never boring and never moderated.

Contrary to what many think, I run this site by myself, without assistance, and will continue to do so for as long as I am able.

You can go to the new site at

World Bankers - "Australia is open for business" T. Abbott.

Corporations are on a land grab across the world with help from the World Bankers

The World Bank’s Doing Business ranking gives points to countries when they act in favour of the “ease of doing business.” This consists of smoothing the way for corporations’ activity by, for instance, cutting administrative procedures, lowering corporate taxes, removing environmental and social regulations, or lowering trade barriers.

The ranking system also encourages land reforms that tend to make land just a marketable commodity, easily accessible to wealthy corporations. In the process, they neglects things like human rights, the protection of workers, and the sustainable use of natural resources.

OAKLAND, CA - As the World Bank prepares for its annual Spring Meetings, members of Our Land Our Business ( ) , a campaign of over 260 NGOs, farmer groups and trade unions from around the
world, are publically posing three questions about the Bank's role in landgrabbing, climate destruction and the corporatization of agriculture.

"....Beginning in 1773 with the Inclosure Act 1773, followed by the Inclosure Consolidation Act 1801, English Parliament effectively "privatized" massive amounts of common land for the benefit of a few, causing huge numbers of land peasants to become "landless paupers" and therefore in need of parish assistance. The Inclosure Acts are the foundation of Land Title as it is known today.

Because of the deliberate "legal" theft of land under parliamentary Inclosure laws of the late 18th and early 19th Century, the number of paupers dramatically increased. This led to the most awful and cruel laws being introduced to deliver to an elite few, the slave labor force needed for the industrial revolution through the Poor Law Amendment Act (1834) which effectively stated that the poor could not receive any benefit unless they were constantly "employed" in a workhouse prison. Thus, despite international treaties against slavery, the very worst slavery being "wage slavery" or "lawful slavery" was born whereby men, women and children lived in terrible conditions and were worked "to death"....."

Thank heavens I can finally log in! Can someone suggest the following, to the powers that be? As farmers are being put to work doing maintenance work around their farming districts, could this include flood abatement measures? It will surely rain and it is better to dig channels and tunnels for the flood waters now, instead of waiting to do this under life-threatening conditions when the rains arrive?

I can still use the old site ok!

You should use your own name Mahomed.

I just tried to register on the new site and it tells me that my email address is already in use - same with my user name. How do you register when you only have one email address and you wish to continue with the present user name?

It is no measure of health to be well ajusted to a profoundly sick society.

New site does not seem to work

...wind? ;)

Larry, got into the new site as far as resetting password, permission to log into new site but then get "invalid token" if that's any help.

The hackers are having another go at us , logon and posting hard to do .

OT, the long panned fascist dictatorship that is overwhelming Brittan.
retired police officers and professionals from the NHS are saying that there is an agenda to collapse society and install a new system of government where people would be appointed into power and not elected.

I have to login every time I make a comment, I can not remain logged in.

Very unstable , if I refresh the page I loose everything.

Absolutely no login section I can see when I try to logon to the new site, I guess I will wait a few days, Even having heaps of problems here today, I think I must have shot a few China men or is that left men? Hewe goes I will see if this posts....

QUEENSLAND’S state MPs from across the political divide have opened up about their history in the wake of the Billy Gordon scandal. Embattled Member for Cook Billy Gordon revealed a criminal history to the Labor Party last week, following continuing allegations from his former partner. Now several MPs from both sides of politics have opened up about youthful indiscretions, from drink-driving to public urination. The Sunday Mail put the question to Mr Gordon’s 88 parliamentary colleagues after Treasurer Curtis Pitt said he would be calling on Labor MPs to disclose any skeletons in their closet. All the politicians responded. Many of the MPs said they were willing to disclose their pasts, despite being beyond the 10-year mark at which point convictions become spent, in the interests of full disclosure. Labor’s Rob Pyne, Member for Cairns, admitted to drink driving 25 years ago, while Springwood’s Mick de Brenni also had a drink-driving offence about 10 years ago. LNP Redlands MP Matt McEachan said he had a disqualification on his licence for a drink-driving charge 15 years ago, while former tourism minister and Currumbin MP Jann Stuckey revealed she had a drink-driving charge about 29 years ago. “It’s something I’m not proud of, but I’ve had a squeaky clean record ever since,” Ms Stuckey said. Member for Condamine Pat Weir, LNP, confessed to being charged with “behaving in an indecent manner” – public urination – in 1981 when he was 21 years old. “We were three lads down from the country and had a few beers. The police happened to come by,” he said. Mr Weir said he received a $40 fine at the time. Bundaberg MP Leanne Donaldson was disqualified from driving for one month and fined $250 after pleading guilty to driving unlicensed due to a SPER suspension. It occurred while she was Labor’s candidate for Hinkler during the 2013 Federal election. None of the offences were classed as criminal offences, but regarded as traffic offences or misdemeanors. The Courier-Mail has revealed that Labor’s Pumicestone MP Rick Williams had been charged and committed to stand trial for a criminal offence, but prosecutors found there was no basis to the charge and it was dropped. It is understood the MPs had disclosed these offences to their respective parties during the preselection processes. LNP state director Brad Henderson said all candidates for nominations were required to produce a National Police Certificate and a Person History, which includes records of all charges in Queensland. ALP state secretary Evan Moorhead yesterday committed to a review of vetting procedures after Premier Palaszczuk questioned how Mr Gordon’s past had not been known after he was selected twice by the party. I am still having a lot of trouble logging in to the new web site, it says it has sent an email to my registered address but there is nothing there.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has declared she is not a racist during a rally against Islam in Brisbane. Ms Hanson, who narrowly lost her fight for a seat in the 2015 Queensland election, joined hundreds of protesters in King George Square. Many were draped in the Australian flag and carried signs denouncing sharia law and halal certification for Australian products. The group Reclaim Australia is holding nationwide rallies against "sharia law, halal tax and Islamisation". But the rally was not an exercise in racism, Ms Hanson said. "We have people here today who stand against racism. Thank you for your support," she said. "So do I." Ms Hanson said she and her supporters had endured trial by media and those with hidden agendas. "Let my fellow Australians judge me on what I say. Don't deny me the right to have our say," she said. "I am not a racist. Criticism is not racism." Ms Hanson said she was merely a proud Australian fighting for the country's democracy, culture and way of life. Tempers flared as a counter-rally was held opposite the event and at least 30 police officers kept the two groups separate. "Go home bigots, go home," members of the counter-rally chanted. But Reclaim Australia speaker David Truman said their opponents were using tired and untrue slogans. "They hate free speech. They use fascist tactics to try and shut it down," he said. "I've got news for you and for them - we are not racists or supremacists of any kind." CUT & PASTED FROM CH. 7 NEWS. THIS IS A LEGACY OF RUDD, GILLARD, SHORTEN & THE labor party.

Thanks Larry, I haven,t been ale to log in for some time and was blocked as well, but I continued reading your posts, well done and keep up the good work.
