THE LUNATIC LEFT NOW RUNS THE ABC

… so what else is new?

Larry Pickering

Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.

The headline, “GUTHRIE SACKED”, evoked initial sighs of relief across the nation that at last the Government had begun the long overdue ABC clean-out. But expectations were shattered when people like the far Left, John Faine, started applauding the move. Only then did it become even clearer that the lunatics were running the ABC asylum.

It is not Guthrie who needs to go, it is the entire ABC behemoth of banal bromides who believe they have a god-given right to fashion opinions.

After the Wentworth result ScoMo must move to either reform or inter this disgraceful organisation of wankers who fleece the public of more than a billion dollars each year.

The ABC passed its use-by date decades ago… there is no contemporary role for it today. There is nothing it can provide that is not already available on line. The digital age has killed it but it won’t lie down. It is now no more than a decomposing cadaver resisting interment.

No modern nation will support a public broadcaster of this size and type, even the BBC is under threat as it too descends into a Left abyss of unwanted wastage, incompetence and excesses.

How can Australians be left to sleep in the streets and how can we watch drought-stricken farmers commit suicide while we pay a bunch of opining fuckwits billions to treat us like fools?

Guthrie was embarrassed at her over one million dollar a year wage (including expenses). She agreed she was unqualified for a broadcasting job, but the number one ticket holder of “Friends Of The ABC”, Malcolm Turnbull, insisted on a first-time woman MD and an Asian woman to boot was perfection.

Lavish wages suck up half the ABC’s yearly budget and presenters and producers are now campaigning for an even bigger slice of the taxpayer paid for pie. They rebelled over Guthrie’s reluctance to insist on even greater Government budgetary largesse and she paid the price with an internal revolt.

                                                      Nice double salary

The Board doesn’t run the ABC, people like the hopeless lesbian, Fran Kelly and Tony Jones and his wife, Sarah Ferguson and John Faine, who are rejected by private enterprise, run it.

Now is the time for this ABC madness to stop, not because of its biases (it has never had an effect on people’s voting intentions because its already-committed audience is far too small) but because it is hopelessly dysfunctional and beyond reparation.

So, does ScoMo have the testicular fortitude to rid us of this behemothian beast? I think not! Little teary eyed kids bearing placards outside Parliament House saying, “Save our Pepper Pig” and “Don’t put our Bananas in Pyjamas to sleep”, are hard to resist.

Defunding it will be met with an organised avalanche of rage from Labor… why not, the ABC is a supporter of the gangrenous Greens, Labor unions and GetUp?

Sell it off? Equally difficult as it’s unsaleable. It has already helped to kill free-to-air and competes unfairly against cable TV. There aren’t enough advertisers to go around now that digital advertising has taken over.

The answer maybe to float it on the Stock Exchange and let the investing public decide its worth, thereby deflecting blame from the Government.

The truth is it has no value without its more than a billion dollars yearly gift… it is an empty shell due for a garage sale of props.

Comments

The trashy ABC has long passed its use by date. I watch or listen to none of it....pure garbage, and Tony Jones, Emma Alberici, and Jon Faine are the very worst of the biased left trash.

Whatever happens to the ABC I hope they leave HARD QUIZ alone!! I love it!

Ive never seen any other station with so many channels on free to air tv. They have taken over as the greatest socialist manipulator of australians. I hate it with a passion and will never ever watch anything it presents.

ABC Hypocrites, this wasn’t political?: THE ABC has struck off one of its longest-serving political commentators on the Insiders program following a review of remarks made during the federal election about former prime minister Julia Gillard’s partner,

News Corp Australia commentator Piers Akerman was not informed of the review or given a right of reply.

He has appeared on the program just once since the Mathieson incident despite having contributed to Insiders for more than a decade.

It has emerged in an email sent to a member of the public by the ABC that the public broadcaster undertook a review of the broadcast on Sunday, June 16, 2013, which concluded that the comments made by Akerman were “inappropriate”.

“ABC News will be reviewing when and under what circumstances any future invitations for Mr Akerman to appear on Insiders might be issued,” the email said.

ABC spokesman Michael Millett did not answer questions about why ABC News management failed to contact Akerman to inform him that he was under review and offer him a right of reply.

Mr Millett also declined to clarify if Insiders intended to invite Akerman to participate in future editions of the program.

“This was all covered at the time. The note speaks for itself,” Mr Millett said.

The ABC’s producers took the decision to raise the topic after listing an interview conducted by Perth radio broadcaster Howard Sattler in which Mr Mathieson’s sexuality was discussed.

Sattler said to the then prime minister: “You hear it! ‘He must be gay; he’s a hairdresser.’ But you’ve heard it! It’s not me saying it. It’s what people say!” The radio shock jock was dismissed by the Fairfax Media-owned radio station 6PR over the incident.

The ABC producers listed the interview as an opportunity for Insider host Barrie Cassidy to open up the question of whether Gillard had been exposed to sexism during her career.

great article, but can anyone tell me why these raging lefties 'sacked' her? Was she maybe doing a good job?

So Emma was giong to be sacked from the ABC. Well she does tell big leftie porkies.

Calls for ABC chairman Justin Milne to go over claims he tried to get a journalist sacked.

Justin Milne is facing calls to resign as ABC chairman after a report that he sought to have chief economics correspondent Emma Alberici sacked following a backlash from the Coalition Government.

This morning, Fairfax Media reported that it had been given an email from May 8 in which Mr Milne told Michelle Guthrie, who was sacked as managing director on Monday, that the Coalition Government hates Alberici.

"I think it's simple. Get rid of her. We need to save the ABC — not Emma. There is no guarantee they [the Coalition] will lose the next election," he reportedly said.

Mr Milne didn't comment on the accuracy of the Fairfax report in a statement released this morning, saying instead:

"The job of the ABC Board is to independently govern the Corporation, protect its best interests, ensure that it is well funded, well managed and that our content is of the highest standards. That is precisely what the Board has done and will continue to do. I do not propose to provide a running commentary on day to day issues which arise in pursuit of our duties."

"Beginning of End" for Ang3ela Merkel as chancellor defeated in party rebellion..Germans were speculating over the "beginning of the end of the Merkel era" on Tuesday night after the chancellor suffered a shock defeat in a key vote of her party's MPs. For the first time since Merkel took power almost 13 years ago MPs from her Christian Democrat Party (CDU) rejected her chosen candidate as their leader in parliament and voted instead for a challenger who had promised to be more independent...The defeat was a body blow to Mrs Merkel's authority and left her facing the prospect of backbench rebellion as she tried to get her coalitions legislative programme through parliament. Guthrie sacked for not sacking Emma Alberici.

Tim Blair's blog......UPDATE II:

ABC chairman Justin Milne is under pressure to resign after Fairfax Media revealed he told former managing director Michelle Guthrie to "get rid of" high-profile presenter Emma Alberici …

Outraged ABC staff will meet at the broadcaster's Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane offices at lunchtime to discuss their response. A draft motion being circulated through the newsrooms calls for Mr Milne to "publicly acknowledge whether the political interference suggested in the emails is true and if so, immediately resign from his position."

UPDATE III:

Emma Alberici says Fairfax reports today that ABC Chair Justin Milne wanted her sacked are the first she'd heard of the story.

O.T. Bubbling along in the background because Scomo has more important decisions such as e.g. separate holiday for coon recognition on his mind. “The War of the World” (UN Global Compact on Migration) — David Samuel, The Spectator by Jim Ball | Sep 23, 2018.
I would like to imagine and would much prefer this to be a tin foil hat conspiracy but unfortunately it isn’t and apart from anything else this should be front and center at the next election. I blogged on The UN Global Compact on Migration here and here when news of it first broke back in late July and to my knowledge apart from the Spectator, The Australian is the only other mainstream media organ that has published anything at all on the UN Global Compact on Migration.
If our government secretively signs off on this (as was intended) in ANY form it will be the greatest betrayal in the nation’s history to a supranational body and will eclipse anything Australia has signed up to at any time in our history. Unbeknown to most people Australia, under the Turnbull Liberal Government was about to sign up to it. Under a Shorten Labor Government, who knows? shttps://www.jimball.com.au/blog/the-war-of-the-world-un-global-compact-on-migration-david-samuel-the-spectator/

Will the Tured's mate get the flick?

The Australian reports:

Just two days after the sacking of the ABC’s managing director Michelle Guthrie the knives are now out for the chairman who got rid of her, Justin Milne, with politicians and the journalist’s union describing his position as “untenable”.

Things are moving very fast at ABC’s Ultimo headquarters in Sydney, with Mr Milne’s boardmates now co-ordinating diaries for yet another crisis meeting and ABC staff to stage a walk-out to attend a meeting about the dramas at 1pm.

Meanwhile, their former managing director turned nemesis Ms Guthrie is believed to be in Sydney taking counsel on what she will do next.

The impending meeting of the ABC board — which The Australian understands will be their sixth in the last eight days — follows revelations today Mr Milne had written an email to Ms Guthrie in May that ordered the sacking of ABC journalist Emma Alberici.
