PUTIN STEPS INTO THE BREACH
... while Barry stays in bed
Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.
Ignoring Secretary of State John Kerry’s warning, Vladimir Putin has sent freighter aircraft loaded with military equipment and combat-ready troops into Syria in preparation for an all out assault on Syrian rebels who are closing in on Bashar al-Assad.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has also sent troops to Syria and has coordinated with Russian military logistics forces who are are already in Syria setting up bases for strike aircraft and combat helicopters.
Unlike Obama, Putin knows not to provoke a regime change without a strongman replacement. It’s better the devil you know. And, unlike Obama, Putin understands the futility of bombs without coordinates provided by ground troops.
Next week Australia will join with Russia and Iran in the strangest war ever, even for Islamic States. But the West has changed a familiar old adage to, “The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy”.
More than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on the war against ISIS and al Qaeda are being "inappropriately" altered by senior White House officials to falsely show the U.S. is winning the battle against both ISIS and al Qaeda’s al Nusra.
Those analysts who have complained the loudest have been asked by the Administration to either leave or take early retirement.
ISIS has occupied most of Syria and is close to isolating Damascus. It recognises no borders other than the entire Levant.
It has taken major cities in Iraq like Mosul and Fallujah, it is 60 mile from Baghdad and even closer to Damascus. It has taken over historic Palmyra, countless Iraqi cities and major Iraqi oil fields, and controls Iraq’s largest province of Ramadi.
This week, ISIS seized a Syrian army's rocket base, bringing it within a kilometre of the military airport. "Al Nusra took advantage of a severe sandstorm and have already taken control of large parts of the airport", said one informant.
Please don’t tell Obama, but ISIS is winning this war hands down!
France’s Francois Hollande has wisely decided that Putin and his mate Assad can be dealt with later. He will now join Russia and Iran in supporting Syria’s Assad in his struggle against the Sunni Islamic militants.
The French Government announced Monday that it would start reconnaissance flights over Syria before initiating airstrikes against ISIS. French jets have already flown over Syrian territory on Tuesday this week in preparation for concerted bombing.
“To think that US airstrikes in Syria can be conducted without the participation of Russia, is an illusion", said one French military expert this week, noting that Obama would never commit ground troops.
Australia, France, Canada, the UK, Russia, Iran and the Kurdish Peshmerga have decided to leave Obama in bed with the blankets over his head forging his latest golf score card.
ISIS is the only game in town, and the real world needs to put its differences aside until this Islamic scourge is utterly destroyed... not merely “degraded”, as is Obama’s stated ambition.
But only Putin has the testicles and the intelligence to realise that bombs without boots is baseless bravado.
