On Earth Day we should Celebrate The True Green Fuels

...hydrocarbons and nuclear

Viv Forbes

Viv has a degree in Applied Science Geology and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy

The Carbon Sense Coalition today urged people to celebrate the true green fuels – oil, coal, gas, nuclear and, in places, geothermal and hydro. The Chairman of “Carbon Sense”, Mr Viv Forbes, said in a Press release this week that these fuels have reduced man’s pressure on the environment to such an extent that they should be celebrated on “Earth Day”.

Mr Forbes said:

"It was petroleum that provided the kerosene that replaced whale oil in lamps and greatly reduced the slaughter of whales."

"Coal saved the forests that were being cut down for smelters, forges, charcoal, heaters and stoves. Steel made with coke then replaced wood for mine props, bridges and tall buildings. As steam engines and iron ships replaced wooden wind-jammers in world navies and merchant fleets, the forests expanded."

"Coal gas and clean coal cured the smogs of London and Pittsburgh. Piped gas for home heating and street lighting and the even better “clean-coal-by-wire” (coal powered electricity) worked wonders to reduce air pollution in 'The Big Smoke'."

"Petrol driven cars and trucks removed horse manure from the big cities, and tractors reduced the amount of land required to grow food for those cities."

"Nuclear power is the ultimate “green energy” – enormous amounts of clean energy generated on a tiny footprint, by minute quantities of fuel, with little effect on air or water quality. Its only disadvantage is that, unlike coal and gas, it does not recycle the gases of life to the atmosphere."

Naturally there are risks in every human endeavour but modern energy sources kill far fewer people and wildlife than were once lost in timber getting, horse breaking, wind-jammers, sulky capsize, air pollution and city wildfires.

And to believe that man can tweak the climate with carbon taxes is nonsense.

In contrast, the so called “green energy” sources usually lauded on Earth Day have a heavy toll on the environment to produce piddling amounts of unreliable and costly energy.

Both wind and solar energy are so dilute that large areas of land must be sterilised by roads, transmission lines and construction sites to collect significant energy. Already many wind towers have been abandoned and others are being de-commissioned because of high maintenance costs or poor energy production.

Roof-top solar is a joke as a reliable supplier of energy for most of humanity. In most installations of wind and solar power, the facilities would not be built without subsidies and other political props, and it is doubtful that the green-power turbines and panels will generate enough useful energy over their limited life to recover the energy needed for their raw materials, manufacture, construction, roads, power lines, earth works, maintenance and decommission

Green energy is not environmentally friendly

Where big wind/solar facilities are constructed, many native birds and bats are sliced by whirling swords, or singed and fried by concentrated solar heat rays. Blinded by their obsession with blaming fossil fuels for everything, greens pretend that this unnecessary slaughter of wildlife is not occurring.

Without carbon and nuclear fuels, Earth would be raped for fuel and food by destitute people trying to eke out a living without the greatest boon to modern living – cheap reliable energy. As Alex Epstein, from the Centre for Industrial Progress says eloquently,

Fossil Fuels: The Greenest Energy

“Despite what most environmentalists would have us believe, fossil fuels have made our lives more livable, not less. Thanks to coal, oil, and natural gas, the developed world has routine access to clean water, better sanitation, and yes, cleaner air. Watch the video here:

And find out how, rather than destroying the planet, this miracle energy source is actually saving lives.

Aussie coal needed for local steel industry: MCA

Tuesday, 26 April 2016
Lou Caruana
THE consequence of the Greens policy to shut down coal mining is that Australia would end up importing coking coal from overseas to produce Australian steel, according to Minerals Council of Australia executive director Greg Evans.

Every tonne of steel produced requires 800 kilograms of coking coal.

“We trust the Greens are aware that coal is required to produce steel.”

“It is odd for the Greens to claim to support Australian steel for Australian infrastructure projects when they do not support the mining of Australian coal to produce that steel,” Evans said.

“The Greens policy platform for Natural Resources: forests, mining and fisheries specifically states: ‘The prohibition of both new coal mines and the expansion of existing mines’.

“Their Climate Change and Energy policy platform further states: ‘No new coal-fired power stations or coal mines, and no expansions to any existing power stations or mines, plus the development of programs to assist coal-dependent communities to make the transition to other more sustainable sources of economic prosperity’.”

This is another example of inconsistent Green policy that would harm Australia, Evans said.

Jeez, whoever said Fred Flintstones car would never work was a fool. Just ask the Greens - it will work. Subjugation is the name of the the game.

Back before man-made climate change was frying Australia, when CO2 was around 300ppm, the continentsavoured an ideal pre-industrial climate…….. RIGHT?
This is the kind of climate we are spending $10bn per annum to get back too….. Right again?
We are told today’s climate has more records and more extremes than times gone by, but the few records we have from the early 1800’s are eye-popping.
Things were not just hotter, but so wildly hot it burst thermometers.
The earliest temperature records we have shown that Australia was a land of shocking heat waves and droughts, except for when it was bitterly cold or raging in flood.
In other words, nothing has changed, except possibly things might not be quite so hot now!
Silliggy (Lance Pidgeon) has been researching records from early explorers and from newspapers.
What he’s uncovered is fascinating! It’s as if history is being erased!
For all that we hear about recent record-breaking climate extremes, records that are equally extreme, and sometimes even more so, are ignored.
In January 1896 a savage blast “like a furnace” stretched across Australia from east to west and lasted for weeks.
The death toll reached 437 people in the eastern states.
Newspaper reports showed that in Bourke the heat approached 120°F (48.9°C) on three days.

How America backed ISIS Takeover and Destruction of Palmyra
April 15, 2016 — Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel backed the ISIS takeover and destruction of Palmyra. Most of the weapons ISIS used were from the US, with some ammunition from Israel. ISIS had US Hummers, spinning explosive projectiles and military rations from the US, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
That should not have been a surprise. US officials admitted in 2014 that their allies Turkey, the Saudis and Qatar were backing every single armed group in Syria, in an attempt to overthrow the Syrian Government led by President Bashar al Assad. Our group of 30 journalists visited liberated Palmyra on 14 April; 18 days after the Syrian Army freed the historic city from a ten month reign of terror. Syrian bulldozers were cleaning debris while Russian sappers continued exploding mines. Three thousand had been cleared and another 30 exploded in the two hours we were there.
More than 200 Syrian soldiers died defending Palmyra in May 2015, and another 150 died retaking that historic and strategic city, in March 2016. They lost their lives defending their country. The water supply in Palmyra was destroyed; historic sites and treasures damaged, and soldiers and many other innocents were slaughtered, all by US-backed terrorists. Whatever else people may or may not understand about the Syrian conflict, they should be clear that the US ‘war on terrorism' in Syria and Iraq is a fraud; directly or indirectly, Washington remains the key supporter of ISIS, al Nusra and the rest.

Every day the ‘world order’ is a ”new’ one… a New World Order…. compared to yesterday. Happenings today were considered to be greatly feared NWO events 20 years ago

We never hear from the Labor Party, the Greens or other parties on these issues.

Many conservatives will not vote LNP with Turncoat in charge. Ever. I'd already decided not to vote LNP when Tones pulled the iron from the fire and took over the leadership. Just amazing that some don't understand how much Turncoat is disliked.

I see that Leonardo de Capri flying about in his private jet bitching about global warming. Why doesn't he invest in a glider?

Now if billons of dollars could be spent putting this into all the media & if *our ABC* would run it, the message might just get through that ,global warming is a crock of doo doo, from which some people are pocketing zillions.

Grandpa The Gambler....
The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office. The auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney.
The auditor said, "Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable."
"I'm a great gambler, and I can prove it," says Grandpa. "How about a demonstration?"
The auditor thinks for a moment and said, "Okay. Go ahead."
Grandpa says, "I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye."
The auditor thinks a moment and says, "It's a bet."
Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor's jaw drops.
Grandpa says, "Now, I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye."
Now the auditor can tell Grandpa isn't blind, so he takes the bet. Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye.
The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.
"Want to go double or nothing?" Grandpa asks. "I'll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between."
The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again.
Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he ends up urinating all over the auditor's desk.
The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win. But Grandpa's own attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.
"Are you okay?" the auditor asks.
"Not really," says the attorney. "This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you'd be happy about it!"

Shakespeare: more than a ‘long-dead, British guy’
According to American English teacher Dana Dusbiber, the works of William Shakespeare don’t need to be taught in schools because he is a ‘long-dead, British guy’.

Mosques promote bigotry

Stick these in your search engine and see what trendy thought processes look like - "genghis khan environment". Apparently research (assuming that funds were laid out) concluded that Genghis Khan was by proxy one of human kinds greatest environmentalist. His mass culling of large human portions of the planet apparently was a period of great environmental CO2 capture.

Shotgun. Sometimes you make stupid ridiculous statements but it's no point trying to discuss them you because you don't reply. This is one of them. I put this one with you telling us gold prices will be going to $20,000.

people supported Hitler as well as other despots and look what happened to them, Turnbull isn't a leaders bootlace

Poyraz’s book that put him in Prison – ‘Children of Moses’
In 2007, Poyraz was arrested and eventually sentenced to 29 years in prison.Poyraz claims that Erdogan came to power as part of a Zionist conspiracy devised by Turkey’s JITEM, a secret government intelligence unit.
JITEM is believed to be behind many bombings, attacks and assassinations, and is believed to be linked to Ergenekon, which was part of the CIA’s Operation Gladio.
On 8 November 2010, Turkey's President Gul said that Turkey is playing an active role in shaping the New World Order.
Gul was speaking at London's Chatham House, said to be a front for the security services.
(Chatham House: MI6 Front And Corporate Think-Tank)
Chatham House, also known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is the sister organisation of the US Council on Foreign Relations.
Chatham House has presented Gül with its prestigious Chatham House Prize.
During his speech Gül suggested that the Cold War era world system was yet to be replaced by a new and effective system.
Gül suggested that the new order will be accomplished in the next decade.
Gül said that this new order must focus on the whole world and reject a Euro-centric understanding of history and international affairs.
Gül said that the new order must be a multicultural one where a single power's hegemony is absent.

You should have said plant a Green or two or three.

Well they have it all nicely covered don't they? This is one thing that TA would never have supported.
