JULIE BISHOP MUST GO!
... in Turnbull’s first test as PM
Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.
If Abbott hung on too long to Speaker Bronwyn Bishop, who spent $5,000 on a helicopter getting to a Party fundraiser, then Deputy Leader Bishop’s extravagant spend of $30,000 on a RAAF jet for the same reason means her time is already well and truly up. But stand by to witness more of media’s blatant bias and Turnbull’s lack of mettle.
Media accuses Abbott of Rudd-style white-anting of his Party yet Abbott has only ever sought to defend his role as PM against vicious scuttlebutt from his own side. If Abbott wished to do damage to his assassin then he could have backgrounded the Press gallery on her outrageous RAAF jet spend. But he didn’t.
That's not to say someone else in the divided Liberal Party didn’t leak the information, despite eventual Senate Estimates disclosure.
The Foreign Minister is accused of ordering an empty RAAF jet to fly from Canberra to pick up her and her boyfriend, Mr Wonderful (David Panton) from a charity dinner in Perth on October 18 this year.
... the most expensive inductions into the mile-high club in airline history.
Media had pounced on Bronwyn Bishop’s use of a helicopter to get to and from a Party fundraiser eventually forcing Abbott to stand her down. But where will media stand on this one?
SKY’s Paul Murray is the only commentator still clinging to the concept that Julie Bishop has an ounce of integrity remaining. She does not have! She is a consummate liar and a treacherous power freak who will stop at nothing to get her way.
I put my neck on the line to declare that it was Bishop who was behind the Abbott knifing the day it happened. Loyalty indeed... Ms Bishop is incapable of spelling the word and she is making Julia Gillard appear more like Margaret Thatcher.
Current polling is as good as it gets for Malcolm Turnbull. It’s all downhill from here, only the speed of the descent is in question, and that will depend on his judgment in dealing with people like Bishop and Mal Brough.
Much of his political capital is about to be spent but he needs to save enough for a horror pre-election budget.
Meanwhile Abbott can continue to smell the roses.
