IF YOU WERE PM FOR A DAY

... what one thing would you do?

Larry Pickering

Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.

That’s if you controlled the House and the Senate with a compliant Cabinet. Maybe outlaw deficit spending? But borrowings and the budget would need to be in surplus first. What about a flat rate of taxation to dismantle the ATO or defunding the ABC and SBS? Maybe defunding the CSIRO or the HRC. Possibly banning unions and overseas entities from financially funding or participating in general elections? Voluntary suicide restricted to only Green Parliamentarians would be good!  A republic maybe?

Me, I’d go for banning the Islamic/Shariah cult from involvement in our Aussie culture. Promoters would be refused a path to immigration and all those here now could escape deportation by denouncing Shariah and the Koran’s laws of Islam.

This would include the defunding of all Islamic schools and madrasses, and all mosques must be converted to public atriums or libraries. Councillors who pass applications for new mosques would be subject to 10 years’ psychiatric counselling in gaol.

And this anti Aussie burkah bullshit would be a given

Of course halal certification would be banished from our supermarket shelves and Islamic nations would not be further encouraged with foreign aid of any kind.

Now for this global warming hoax that’s killing our energy needs... bugger, I did say only one enactment!

I know I’m only dreaming, but it would be fascinating to hear what our intrepid PPers would choose to do.

Once moslems were gone, we would have the money, energy and new direction to be able to cope with all the other issues!

Ban Islam, it venerates a Fat White Dwarf!

Muhammad the white fat dwarf as stated in Islamic texts!

And did you know Muhammad was White, it is in the Islamic texts for everyone to read!

David Wood presents the facts very well!

It's a silly idea voting for some other bloke or sheila to make laws to govern your life IMO. This is what you end up with - pushing shit up hill being legal, but not lawful.

All of the above Larry. But first we have to rid ourselves of the current lefty pompous arrogant PM

If I was de man I'd get rid of at least half of all the useless "public servants" who suck the wealth out of this country. Surely in the computer age 1 competent person can do what a whole floor of pencil pushers used to do & do it quicker & better. But they are are a protected species by the LabGreens just like the sacred cows of India.

C'mon sailor. you have my permission to "Delete"

I hadn't realised what I had trod on.

NUCLEAR POWER

Crawling Eagle if you ask me. Too much shit even to walk...

Maybe Saddler.. is the new Walking Eagle?

Saddler.. I'm willing to bet you will still be lurking around, well after Trump is inaugurated. I reccon you are trying to deny that he won the election. But as we all know, you can't depend on the word of a liar. You can say whatever you like, I won't believe anything you say.

“Government” is a religion. (Larken Rose)
.
This is an excerpt from Larken Rose’s new book, The Most Dangerous Superstition.
.
The Religion of “Government” (TMDS pp. 28-32.)
.
“Government” is neither a scientific concept nor a rational sociological construct; nor is it a logical, practical method of human organization and cooperation. The belief in “government” is not based on reason; it is based on faith. In truth, the belief in “government” is a religion, made up of a set of dogmatic teachings, irrational doctrines which fly in the face of both evidence and logic, and which are methodically memorized and repeated by the faithful. Like other religions, the gospel of “government” describes a superhuman, supernatural entity, above mere mortals, which issues commandments to the peasantry, for whom unquestioning obedience is a moral imperative. Disobedience to the commandments (“breaking the law”) is viewed as a sin, and the faithful delight in the punishment of the infidels and sinners (“criminals”), while at the same time taking great pride in their own loyalty and humble subservience to their god (as “law-abiding taxpayers”) And while the mortals may humbly beg their lord for favors, and for permission to do certain things, it is considered blasphemous and outrageous for one of the lowly peasants to imagine himself to be fit to decide which of the “government” god’s “laws” he should follow and which it is okay for him to ignore. Their mantra is, “You can work to try to change the law, but as long as it’s the law, we all have to follow it!”
.
The main factor distinguishing the belief in “government” from other religions today is that people actually believe in the god called “government.” The other gods people claim to believe in, and the churches they attend, are now, by comparison, little more than empty rituals and half-heartedly parroted superstitions. When it comes to their everyday lives, the god that people actually pray to, to save them from misfortune, to smite their enemies, and to shower them with blessings, is “government.” It is “government” whose commandments the people most often respect and obey. Whenever a conflict arises between “government” and the teachings of the lesser gods — such as “pay your fair share” (taxation) versus “Thou shalt not steal,” or “duty to country” (military service) versus “Thou shalt not murder” — the commands of “government supersede all the teachings of the other religions. Politicians, the high priests of the church of “government” — the mouthpieces and representatives of “government,” who deliver the sacred “law” from on high — even openly declare that it is permissible for the people to practice whatever religion they wish, as long as they do not run afoul of the supreme religion by disobeying “the law” — meaning the dictates of the god called “government.”……

"Is it time to bring back TA ?" I'm not trying to provoke strife on PP. That quote was made on ABC24 last Friday !!!!

anyone on the dole refuses a job...strike them off. Anyone on the dole should be made to travel to another part of the country if jobs are available...otherwise strike them off.

Get rid of the the major parties and many good things are achievable....We can do it,
next election just don't vote for the bums....Oh, yes, and mark your vote with an ink pen!!!

All Unions, Religions, Charities, and Backpackers to pay full tax like the rest of us. They want to politically comment, influence politicians, and use taxpayer services or infrastructure then of course they should pull their weight. And sell the ABC.

Retributions - one day, get tax office to audit all enemies including unions and mosques. Have all mosques investigated by ASIO - all associates of mosques to be taxed assessed on handouts, then ban Centrelink payments to all Muslims and those long termers. ABC to one channel - free to air, sack the rest.

Well - whilst I agree of PP comments .... Tax - have 20% GST on everything - goods and services - no personal income tax - not necessary. So people 'pay' to play simple. Lower company tax to 15 percent so attracts multinationals. Impact would be huge - then cut government to the core - with budget linked to CPI. Swiss democracy - piss off Turnull and Shorten - limit tern max 8 years and cur retirement benefits.

Did anyone watch Chris Kenny interview his bestest mate Malcolm Turnbull on Viewpoint last night? What a wasteful session of pure waffle and doublespeak from both parties. Shameful stuff.

18. Three scales of Personal Income Tax - 0% up to $25k, 20% up to $60k, 33?ove $60k
19. Corporate tax rate 20%; GST on all items including all imports
20. New laws to ensure international corporations pay their fair share of tax before transfers to foreign accounts
21. Transfer GST collection and responsibility to states; simultaneously abolish payroll taxes and stamp duties
22. Except for defense, foreign affairs and a National Standards Bureau, decentralise all responsibilities from federal to state (health, education, infrastructure, etc.)
23. Politicians to operate under the same Super rules as the citizens (no exceptions)
24. Politician perks and salaries to be controlled with daily open transparency
25. Super to be 0% taxed until retirement; thereafter same tax rates as others

9. Drain the FIRB swamp who serve politician desires only. Replace with new mission with national security as a priority
10. Clean up the education swamp with the prime mission to educate children for career & life, not to brainwash them.
11. Increase defense spending to match our vast borders. Cut massive defense waste by doubling of value for our money. Start with annulling un-Australian submarine contract
12. Unions operate as businesses and must be taxed as such, with the same rules.
13. Frivolous/violent union action must have minimum sentences.
14. Tax Rules must be simplified completely. Must be simple but effective.
15. Review all charities to ensure admin costs kept below 10%
16. Remove government funding of political parties
17. Cost Benefit analysis of UN membership
