GREEN ENEMIES OF THE ENVIRONMENT

There was a time when true environmentalists strove to protect wild things. Now the green shirts have become enemies of the environment by pushing green energy and demonising the building blocks of life - carbon and carbon dioxide.

Wind turbines and their cobweb of connecting roads and transmission lines have destroyed native trees and grasses, scarred and uglified wild hilltops, and littered continental shelves with naval and aerial obstacles. They create wind and rain shadows and decimate resident and migratory birds and bats.

                                                          California wastelands

Industrial-scale solar is no better, stealing sunlight from every plant that tries to live in the shadow of the panels. Solar-thermal arrays have the additional trick of roasting any birds, bats and insects which fly through their focussed rays of heat.

These green energy toys produce piddling amounts of unreliable weather-dependent energy at great economic and environmental cost.

Greens also promoted diesel to replace cleaner petrol in vehicles. Thank them for more urban pollution.

Their promotion of ethanol and bio-diesel has caused the widespread conversion of cropland and clearing of natural vegetation and forests to grow industrial crops like corn and palm oil. This has also reduced food supplies, increased food prices and forced some poor people to poach in parklands.

And the stupid promotion of burning wood for power and home heating has taken some cities back sixty-five years to the era of London smogs. Forests are again being cleared and wood smoke is again choking urban communities.

None of these expensive and destructive activities will have any measurable or beneficial effect on global temperature.

So, what is the real agenda?

“......And, in some ways, the current polling works to his advantage. Shit happens, and a lot of things will change over the next two years. An objective analysis would conclude that there is risk that the polling does not get much better than this. That, surprise, surprise, the party, with Malcolm's prodding, cannibalises itself. The big fella once said to me, You capitalise on chaos.”

They're selling LPG to Japan and China for around 3/4cents and here in the domestic market they charge us $1.40. Now they complain they're running out???? We really do get the government we deserve. But I must say, I'm bloody pleased I don't live in Vic or S.A.

.
Parts of it are quite low reliability at the moment — South Australia in particular because of a very large quantity of renewable generation.
.
Victoria, following the closure of the Hazelwood power station in March, will become increasingly unreliable and that will have implications for the interconnected states of both South Australia and New South Wales and it'll have a knock-on effect right through to Queensland.
.
We currently don't have the technology in place to manage our power system reliably with very large quantities of renewables.
.

We have to find technological solutions to overcome that.

Federal Government has 'no policy'
.
[The Federal Government] has no policy to achieve the Paris emissions reduction pledge it itself on a national level.
.
But it is critical of the states who have stepped into the policy vacuum created by there being no national policy.
.
The state governments — in particular Victoria, the ACT and Queensland — have committed to quite significant renewable targets by about 2030-35 of about 50 per cent.
.
If nothing changes, we actually achieve the 28 per cent reduction with no national policy.
.
Turnbull's renewables turnaround

.
Malcolm Turnbull has made a stunning turnaround from urging zero-emissions energy to spruiking "clean coal" — seemingly in the face of climate science, Stephen Long writes.
.
So the Federal Government gets the opportunity to criticise the states for these schemes for being expensive and leading to greater insecurity, which will certainly happen, while claiming the benefits of the emissions reduction.
.
No sign of Canberra working to fix the situation
.
It's very hard to arrest a decline in the quality of a power system; it takes a lot of very bad decisions to get to this point.
.
Given the way that the politics are panning out right now in Parliament, it doesn't look like as if we've got any movement towards an improvement.
.
We've now got the Federal Energy Minister parroting what Penny Wong said seven years ago about the Emissions Intensity Scheme.
.
Labor criticised the Emissions Intensity Scheme back in 2009; Turnbull at the time supported it.
.
And that's completely reversed.
.
The Emissions Intensity Scheme was the policy the Labor Opposition took to the last election.

Rinaldo Thu 9 Mar 2017 07:06:37 am
After Malcolm Turnbull lost the leadership of the Liberal Party, in December 2009 it was Chris Joye singing Turnbull’s praises in offering support for the idea of a Turnbull-led third party to split the Liberal vote:
.
Chris Joye, a leading investment banker and former professional colleague of Mr Turnbull’s who also worked with him at Goldman Sachs and sat with him on the previous government’s Home Ownership Task Force, this week used his blog to promote the new party idea.
.
He said Mr Turnbull moved into politics for the right reasons and possesses “more care, love and passion for this country in his pinky than most of his political peers exude through their entire being”.
.
“Perhaps following this fracas the big fella will throw caution to the wind and found his own political party,” he said.
.
“I am thinking of the Australian Republican Party with an unconditional commitment to combating climate change and reinvigorating the dormant republican movement.
.
“Now that would be sure to split the Liberal Party vote.”
.
Today Chris has detailed his thoughts on Turnbull’s actions and involvement in the current political fracas:
.
First, we take as given that Malcolm is very smart and highly strategic. The shenanigans in recent weeks were not just a random bull-in-a-china-shop episode. There was method to the supposed madness.
.
Chris goes on to outline what might be Malcolm’s assessment of his own political position, before moving on to considering his incentives for his present actions.
.
Which brings us to the key point in which I strongly disagree with Chris’s base premise:
.
Next, consider Malcolm’s incentives, which help shed light on his actions. Unlike almost all other politicians, Malcolm currently has nothing to lose. He is extremely wealthy, and can opt out of politics and pursue a life of leisure at his choosing.
.
Au contraire!
.
As we have seen (“Compassion For Malcolm – He Just Wants His Balls Back“), Malcolm Turnbull has something very important to lose indeed.
.
Goldman Sachs’ “confidential settlement” made on Malcolm’s behalf, to save his hide in the $500 million HIH lawsuit, is the greatest incentive driving Malcolm Turnbull’s political career.
.
Chris Joye argues convincingly that what we are seeing now, with an ascendant Abbott and the Coalition outpolling the Labor/Greens on an anti-carbon trading policy platform, is Malcolm Turnbull embarking on a “kamikaze” run:
.
If he truly believes that it is in the best interests of both the nation and himself to lead the party, and have a shot at running the country, he has to create a catalysing event. It is too late for him to stealthily build support with the backbench. Most are now a lost cause. But time and human self-interest are on his side. It is over two years before the next election.
.
Malcolm’s most powerful solution is to go into Kamikaze mode and compel a ‘survivalist’ partyroom response. This is a risky strategy, but then Malcolm has what is known in financial markets as a “call-option-like” payoff function. He has a helluva lot of upside if he can pull it off. And if he does not, he has little to lose.
.
The Kamikaze strategy involves blowing up both Abbott and Hockey…
.
Chris’ most telling comment of all comes in closing:
.
An objective analysis would conclude that there is risk that the polling does not get much better than this. That, surprise, surprise, the party, with Malcolm’s prodding, cannibalises itself. The big fella once said to me, You capitalise on chaos.
.
A remarkably similar motto to the infamous Ordo Ab Chao.
.
Order out of Chaos.

rin..yes I have said consistently this power fraud is directly funded out of Canberra...Hockey told NSW GST funds were suddenly dependent on Baird selling pubic assets..you dont get much more criminal than that....and as DH says..now various states are threatened with blakcout because of a shortage of gas..there is thousands of years supply in Australia for Japan, but none for Aussies..this is good according to the fkwit Turd Libs and Shorten and co

ABC - Female traffic light signals to go up at pedestrian crossing as Committee for Melbourne tackles 'unconscious bias' Hey what about me! As a beer drinking lout I want to be represented too. I can feel a complaint to Ms Triggs coming on.

Hold the Front Page! Unless it's a hoax/false news/no news, I've just heard the dumbest thing eva! Melbourne is to change the figure depicted on pedestrian crossing lights to the silhouette of a WOMAN; all in the name of equality. Apparently the cost is $8000/6 lightsets. Just done a quick calculation on the back of a beer coaster ( favourite socialist alternative to s spreadsheet..see NBN) and I reckon I'll do it for 40 cents per lens. I'll paste on HALF a skirt on each one, so they are All Bisexual. Jobs right.

So what in the above is a conspiracy theory and why rumpole?

I am responding in the singular Rinaldo whilst you appear to want to interpret it in the plural. pelican is all conspiracy theories just like you. It would appear that you now see some remote suggestion of a conspiracy in my comments. If that is the case you would be wrong. I was agreeing with pelican for the first time, but it probably wasn't for the same reason as him. Nothing more complicated than that.

So your guess rumpole is that pelicans statements are only theories when they are conspiracy theories?

probability in this instance is a guess, but that doesn't mean that pelican's statement(S) are theories.

Greenies blaming the Old ways for all our problems..... See the Reply for the yarn.

PVO is an Elitist , over educated, pompous , arrogent, insider piece of SHIT.

Probability is theory, so it is only a theory of rumpole's that pelicans statements are theories. Can you provide a link rumpole to the source of your 100% accurate facts?

At last we agree on something pelican. The probability is though that you put it down to some conspiracy theory whereas I don't.\

there was no enemy in Vietnam..that war was a crime on all fronts

thats thinking outside the square; an ideas man, white power

Yes, I heard of the Vietnam war. It started not long after my arrival in Australia. Fortunately I was too old for the lottery that took so many to war as Nasho's, but I am grateful that they kept the enemy from our door, just the same way that vaccination/immunisation keeps the danger of disease away now, even if some do not survive the preventive measures.

New post up.....

The Palasczuk labor government is promising jobs jobs jobs. More like Lies lies lies like they lied before the last State election to get into government conning the gullible that voted out Campbell Newman’s progressive party. Billy Shorten and his labor/green mob are promising jobs jobs jobs right now. Anyone who believes that is so gullible and stupid they would believe in “climate change”.

Rumpole you knew kids who died from diptheria I had a brother who died from it I did say I agree with injections but not so many so young and thanks for your service as the yanks say I also served 2 years Nasho then Army reserve unfortunately for me there was a war a little place called Vietnam you may have heard of it it obviously had not been immunised
