... terrorism or paedophilia
Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.
Justice Minister Michael Keenan, in a fit of blissful ignorance this morning, said he took no notice of minority groups who demonstrated against Islamic immigration. They are fringe groups and are not representative of mainstream public opinion. Hmmm, it appears Mr Keenan is in for a surprise come next election.
According to a Morgan poll the majority of Australians are clearly concerned about Islam and 70 per cent believe Australia is worse off for Islamic immigration. The survey, completed in late October of 2013, found a majority (53 per cent) of Australians also want full face coverings banned from public spaces and 50.2 per cent want Islamic Shariah law banned all together.
Two years ago most Australians didn’t even know what Shariah law was! More recent polling shows over 70 per cent of Muslims want Shariah law imposed and even in more advanced countries like Egypt almost 90 per cent support the execution of apostates (those who leave Islam).
The latest polling in Australia indicates a majority of anti-Muslim feeling is on a sharp rise since the Paris atrocities.
But the good ol’ loopy Greens came to the rescue with 95 per cent wanting increased Muslim immigration.
An interesting parallel can be drawn between the law as it applies to both paedophilia and Islamic terrorism. You can expect to go straight to jail if you seek to access, or have accessed, child sex sites (ALP politician Bernard Finnigan is awaiting sentencing after having been found guilty of accessing child pornography) see http://pickeringpost.com/story/the-crows-ain-t-crowing-about-this-bloke/5551
But for some reason budding Jihadists can access any ISIS or bomb-making site they choose and they are monitored but never charged. Muslim preachers can advocate the killing of their hosts, the subjugation of women and girls along with all the evils of Shariah law and they would be stiff if they even made it to an ASIO watch list.
Yet on-line paedophiles who operate world-wide and in our parliaments, judiciaries and entertainment circles face long jail terms if caught accessing any child sex site.
So why the discrepancy? The pickeringpost.com home page poll shows 88.9 per cent of respondents say Islam is of greater concern than paedophilia, which polls 3.7 per cent (at the moment) yet if you have an interest in child pornography they will come after you with a vengeance.
But if your interest is in killing Australians you can hide behind free speech and a plethora of PC restrictions.
A vast majority of Australians are expecting an Islamic atrocity here. But nabbing knife-wielding suicide bombers doesn’t seem as important to crime squads as blokes looking for child pornography sites.
ASIO has a reported 470 Islamic suspects under surveillance. The very fact that they are under surveillance means they should all be on an off-shore detention facility while the terrorism squads sort it out.
If radical Muslim terrorists can resist molesting small children they should remain relatively safe.
The protection of little children is a highly honourable virtue... but in the meantime what about the rest of us?
