“PLEASE DON’T KILL US BECAUSE WE ARE MUSLIM”
... should we be turning a blind eye?
Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.
Some seven thousand of the most ruthlessly persecuted people in the world are floating at sea in rickety marine coffins, slowly dying through disease, dehydration and starvation. These despised Rohingya people are Sunni Muslim as opposed to Burma’s (Myanmar’s) majority Buddhists and are rejected and turned back out to sea to die as unwanted vermin even by Islamic nations, including Indonesia.
Where should Australia, the land of plenty of everything, stand on this Asian dilemma? The cult of Islam deserves rejection in the same way we would reject the Ku Klux Klan! Both cults are diametrically opposed to Australian values... but where do our humanitarian hearts lie?
There isn’t one Aussie who could stand by and watch thousands of people drown without wanting to help. Governments can refuse to help from the security of their rosewood panelled hallways, but individuals can’t, it’s not in our nature.
Our Constitutional cornerstone of freedom of religion is copping a battering under the weight of radical Islamic terrorism but progressives world-wide have successfully separated Islamic terrorism from Islam itself.
But Klan terrorism wasn’t separated, it publicly hanged, beheaded and disemboweled a hundred thousand blacks over three centuries in the name of its cult.
Both are supremacist organisations, both are totalitarian, neither will tolerate opposing beliefs... one cult needs to kill blacks the other needs to kill infidels. So why should doctrinal Islam be separated from its atrocious methods when the atrocious methods of the KKK and its doctrine are considered one and the same? Strange.
Islam has the same twisted belief system as has the KKK’s, one is race-based, the other faith-based, so who should care what the bases are when the terrorist atrocities are the same?
So if we refuse to rescue the Rohingya people on the basis of their race then we are clearly racist. But if we refuse to rescue them on the basis of their adherence to Islam then does it really matter?... they still drown!
I believe we should be true to our own belief system and rescue them, simply because we can, and it’s morally wrong not to.
