WHY 4CORNERS WENT HARD ON SHORTEN

The ABC’s 4Corners, according to reports, has a similar program on Abbott in the can and it’s due for release just prior to the pivotal Canning by-election.

The harder the program went on Shorten the more a vicious attack on Abbott can be justified. The Shorten program can then be pointed to when accusations of political bias surface, as they surely will.

Shorten wisely refused to be interviewed. Abbott has already refused, as the program will be playing misogynistic background music to a cascade of Abbott faux pas. Yet Shorten’s record of abuse of women beats Abbott’s hands down.

The AWU’s Bill Shorten makes the Teamsters’ Jimmy Hoffa look like a florist’s apprentice.

It doesn’t matter what is said about Shorten, he’s the original Teflon kid, but it does matter what is said about Abbott... and that he was reported to have punched a wall 33 years ago.

Oh well, that’s their ABC for you.

I live overseas - their ABC broadcasts 4 Corners on Australia Plus (which I pay for only because it's in a package with FoxNews, CNN and Euronews, but have never watched), but when I read about the Shorton show, tried to look at it on ABC.com.au. Verboten - not allowed from an o/s ISP. What are they trying to hide? They get $1.2billion a year, set up a massive on-line presence and won't let me watch it from here? Worse, it took me, no tech nerd, 2 minutes to bypass the ISP ban, so why the ban? Either do it properly or not at all.

And the union movement have the nerve to produce advertisements about job losses, sold out Australian workers, youth employment opportunities because of the free china trade agreement. Didn't SHORTON SELL OUT UNION MEMBERS? DIDN'T THE UNION SELL OUT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG APPRENTICES THROUGH THEIR URURARY PAYMENT WAGES DEMANDS and the list goes on. AND DON'T THE UNIONS CONDEMN MULTI NATIONAL COMPANIES FOR NON PAYMENT OF TAXES WHEN THEY PAY NONE. No wonder they are so scared of the Royal Commission.

This will involve what happened in Victoria. Money went missing from the LIB coffers.

The saying is that your eyes have gone brown because you are so full of shite.

The ABC stands for "Abbott-Bashing-Corporation"

I have been busy over the past couple of days. I only caught onto the CMFEU raid on PP. I believe that I have listened to most TV News. Would I be correct if I said "Not a Bloody Peep" about this raid from any of the stations. I may of course have missed something.!!!!

ABC 4Corners? Irrelevant. Don't watch the ABC at all because I don't need to be lectured to by the left wing ABC.

Whatever happens , it will be Abbott's fault .

MICROSOFT INCREASES SECRECY
EXPANDS SPYWARE TO WINDOWS 7 & 8

Monday, 24 August 2015

Written by C. Mitchell Shaw

The Windows 10 update that turns your PC into a portal for spying on you was just the beginning of what Microsoft is doing. As more and more people begin to adopt Windows 10 — whether by buying a new PC or via Microsoft's "free" upgrade — the Redmond Giant is building on that foundation to further violate users' privacy and liberty.

In what may be one of the most confusing moves the software empire has ever made, Microsoft has begun rolling out updates for Windows 10 that contain none of the release notes users have been accustomed to. Now the description of the update simply says, "This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10."

With so little information, users are left to wonder what the update does and how important it is. Since many (most) users have updates set to install automatically, these "secret recipe" updates are especially troubling.

This is a new policy for the company, which has said that the only updates that will include release notes are those the company decides warrant them. That means that the functions of the vast majority of updates will be unknown to most users. Microsoft points out that the updates can be searched on the company's knowledge base, but this requires that users make note of the filename of the update (for instance, KB 3081424) and search it on the knowledge base.

In previous versions of Windows, these release notes were delivered to the user along with the update. This allowed users to have at least some idea what was going on with their PCs. As it stands now, users have to take the time to search for that information — if they can even find it.

Even though Microsoft claims that nothing has really changed in the level of information that is provided about updates, the reality is that the changes are like night and day. For instance, here is the description of the KB 3081424 update for Windows 10, which was rolled out on August 5:

This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10.

Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.

There is virtually no information about what this update does to a user's PC. All he can know is that Microsoft says it will "enhance the functionality of Windows 10." Compare that to the description Microsoft offered for the KB 3075851 which was sent to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 users at about the same time as the KB 3081424 update was sent out for Windows 10:

This article describes an update that contains some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This update also resolves an issue in which certain Windows Update operations fail when you install Windows Update Client for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: July 2015 (3065987) on Windows 7 Embedded editions.

As Joel Hruska wrote for extremetech.com, "That's dry, but descriptive. If you have an issue with Windows update failing while running Windows 7 Embedded Edition, KB 3075851 applies to you. If you don't, it doesn't." In other words, the description tells the user enough about the update that he can make an informed decision about whether to apply it. That's a lot more information than, "This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10."

To make matters worse, Microsoft seems to be rolling out updates to Windows 7 and 8 that bring them into line with the "spyware" elements of Windows 10.

Because Microsoft's Services Agreement and Privacy Policy apply to all products and services offered by Microsoft, it looks as though the company is expanding its spying to include Windows 7and 8.

The New American covered the specifics of these agreements in a previous article. According to hakspek.com, "new updates that are being deployed to all Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 machines will turn their computers into a big piece of spyware, just like" Windows 10.

As the article explains:

The updates in question are KB3075249 and KB3080149. If installed, these updates are known to report your data back to Microsoft servers, without user interaction. KB3075249 Microsoft Update adds telemetry points to "consent.exe" in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, allowing for remote monitoring of everything that happens within the operating system. KB3080149 ensures that all "down-level devices" receive the same updates and treatment as Windows 10 boxes get.

So, now that Microsoft has convinced some 50 million users to "update" to Windows 10 (with more than 14 million of them doing it in only the first 24 hours the download was available), it seems to have its sights set on those who have heeded the warnings about Windows 10 being spyware. By sending these Windows updates — many of which will be downloaded and installed by default — Microsoft is expanding its spyware empire.

Of course, some users will refuse the KB updates in question. But doing so may leave their systems unstable and unable to receive future security patches.

Windows users who value any degree of privacy will find themselves caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Many are opting out of Windows altogether. Some are going the way of Mac, but many are looking at the advantages offered by Open Source software and the Linux operating system.

A previous New American article discussed the tools that are available through Open Source and Linux to close the door on surveillance by both overreaching government agencies and nosy corporations. Microsoft clearly fits into that latter category. It's easy to see why more and more users are opting for the security, privacy, and liberty offered by Linux.

[In the interest of fairness, the writer of this article has been a Linux user for several years and does not use any Microsoft products or services. This article was written on his System76 Bonobo Extreme running Ubuntu 14.04 using LibreOffice 4.2.]

Former British prime minister confirms media manipulation of government
.

Sir John Major, formerly the prime minister of Britain, has confirmed on
oath Rupert Murdoch's use of his media influence to manipulate
democratic governments.

This will add fuel to conspiracy theories about Zionist control of the
media and politics, as well as controlling the flow of information to the
general public. Conspiracy theorists often express concern that
democracy is subverted and undermined when voting decisions are
based on false or misleading information.

Murdoch, a Jewish billionaire and influential supporter of the
Zionist/pro-Israel agenda, owns a vast global media empire, including
newspaper and TV news operations in Britain, Fox News in the USA and
many other major media companies and brands worldwide. In fact, just
one of his British newspapers, The Sun, is read by more people than
all of the broadsheets combined, giving him sufficient influence to
affect the result of a democratic election. It's noteworthy that news and
opinion from his media outlets tend to serve the needs of the Zionist
agenda, for example supporting and justifying military action against
enemies of Israel.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.”

Do you mean the one in the middle of that big forehead?

Abbott has no worries because he isn't being grilled by a Royal Commission into his affairs and that is all Abbott has to remind everyone during the Canning by election .

The teflon kid. Shorten Short on brains. The hard core voters will still vote for him or whoever they put up in his place. Sad State Of Affairs.

I can't think of one good thing to say about Shorten. Not one. He epitomizes the very worst of the corrupt, greedy, egotistical swill that burps and bubbles to the top of pool of slime that is today's union movement. Have you noticed Shorten's skin? Lumps and bumps all over his face. Gross. He is on a very poor diet evidenced by his flabby belly and fat bum.

Gentleman, love your responses to the Donald and the way you are able to hit his very sensitive nerve.

Gentleman, love your responses to the Donald and the way you are able to hit his very sensitive nerve.

I thought they could have gone harder on Shorten.
They'll certainly give Abbott a caning!

You are right Larry, Shorten is the teflon kid. He was clearly exposed as a liar by 3AW's Niel Mitchell, and he was clearly exposed as a crook by the RCUC, but the swinging morons don't care. The first poll post taken after his appearance at the RCUC had his approval rating going up, and Labor's 2PP election winning lead holding firm at 53/47.

Hey! When Shorten SMILES - His LIPS Disappear...
Eddie (Opie) wouldn't like him
ME Neither..
