Flexible Greenhouse Accounting

The greenhouse regulators approve burning trees and plant trash in power stations because that recycles the life-supporting natural gases - water vapour and carbon dioxide.

But if buried and given time, trees and plant trash can form peat, lignite or coal. If these are burned in power stations the carbon watchdogs condemn them for producing those terrible greenhouse gases - water vapour and carbon dioxide.

Similarly, herds of protected African antelope are allowed to consume native grasses and emit “good” natural gases-of-life - water vapour, carbon dioxide and methane.

But mobs of unloved Australian cattle grazing native grasses are vilified because they emit those dreadful greenhouse gases - water vapour, carbon dioxide and methane.

If we burn coal in a power station to transport commuters in electric trains or cars, it produces greenhouse gases - but that is OK.

But burning diesel in a road train hauling food to those commuters produces the same greenhouse gases – but now they are bad.

That should clarify the flexible principles of greenhouse accounting.

Worth a Captain Cook. The reference to the "church of climatology" is particularly apt. See http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-climate-police-escalate-1461968775

Wind seems to have run out of puff

Monday, 2 May 2016
Anthony Barich
DOUBTS are beginning to mount over the “true carbon balance” of wind energy after a landmark study measured the localised climate effect of one of the UK’s biggest arrays of onshore wind turbines in Scotland.

The Labor States relies on the export income
the proof is in the practice.

Add to that the plan with his mate Daniel Andrews to shut down the brown coal industry in the Latrobe Valley. It is Labour's plan to shut down the entire coal industry so with no industry there will be no exports.

Neobytes :) Meteorologist gets prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 on live TV

NeoBytes :) is an occasional feature that takes a step back from the big headlines, to take a look at what else is happening in the vast, scary expanse of the tech world - often with a cynical eye, always with a dose of humour.
.
Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system has been installed on over 270 million devices; however, you might think that the firm just isn't trying hard enough to get the OS installed on more devices.
.
A meteorologist from KCCI has shown us that those fears can subside, as she was prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 on live TV. While reporting the weather, she saw the pop-up that we've become all too familiar with.
.
It took her about 10 seconds to realize that the offer was present on the screen, perhaps because we have all become so numb to it. She handled it professionally, laughing it off and saying, "What should I do? Don't you love when that happens?"
.
Later, she has trouble with her 'clicker', blames it on Windows 10, and then says "Don't do it!"

Atmospheric ethane mystery solved

Friday, 29 April 2016
Haydn Black
GLOBAL increases in levels of ethane have been pinned on extraction of the unconventional Bakken Shale oil and gas resources, according to a new study from the University of Michigan.

Is it Labor's platform to cease exports
The answer is NO.

Coal dust a minor contributor to Hunter dust pollution: studies

Friday, 29 April 2016
Lou Caruana
TWO new studies on air quality in the Lower Hunter area of New South Wales are a useful addition to the available research on the impact coal trains and coal export terminals have on air quality in the region, according to New South Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee.

Yep. 100% correct. Bloody lot of damage in 3 months!!

another one for you Billy http://www.torontosun.com/2012/06/22/green-drivel

Just in case Billy hasn't seen it Here’s further proof from IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer before the Cancun love in:

“… we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore...”

Where is Bill's plan written or are you making things up again
A few Laborites would ban the export but not the majority.

In a rare letter to Mr. Craig Fugate, the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC), has disclosed that we are about to enter a potentially catastrophic period of record earthquakes and volcanic eruptions throughout the United States.
.
The letter was signed by SSRC President, Mr. John Casey, and delivered to FEMA headquarters in Washington, D.C. today. In the letter, Mr. Casey outlines how the ongoing dramatic reduction in the Sun’s energy output will not only plunge the world into a decades-long cold epoch, but at the same time bring record geophysical devastation in monster earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
.
These cold climate periods called “solar hibernations” or “solar minimums” are well known phenomena in the solar physics community. The SSRC has done important pioneering work in the field of solar- climate modeling and has established itself as a leader in climate prediction and the study of these hibernations of the Sun.

Latest greenhouse idea, apparently a lack of oxygen is causing coral bleaching....bit hard to have water without Oxygen, if you lose the O out of H2O, it no longer becomes water, or did I miss something in chemistry.

Nuclear power is the cleanest form of electricity there is and should tick all the boxes for the greenies but for some reason they are all against it. Why?

The American pioneers reduced the Bison population by about 95,000,000. Was that not good "green" work?

The trouble here is
A) Those greenhouse regulators are not Green they would have been appointed by the likes of Tony Abbott
B) Coal is in the ground 100s of thousands of years, in fact some from before there were land plants! Precambrian!! but we may burn ALL THAT MASS in 400 years, and Uncle Viv invites us to breathe deeply. No thanks.

When home brewing I used to marvel at the co2 bubbling through the airlock on the fermentation vat, bloody awesome stuff..
