All Species are Threatened

In the great Permian extinction, about 250 million years ago, about 95% of ocean dwellers and 70% of land dwellers disappeared. Many species of fish, corals, reptiles, insects and plants were eliminated. This was just one of five mass extinctions and there have also been over twenty smaller ones. Dinosaurs, which once dominated life on earth, disappeared as did mammoths and woolly rhinos.

These were dramatic extinctions, but many species are disappearing quietly all the time - beaten by a changing environment, volcanism, meteor impacts, aggressive predators or competition for food and living space. Earth’s inhabitants and its climate are always changing. Even now, we live in an era of recurring ice ages where life ebbs and flows as the ice comes and goes.

Probably over 95% of all species that have ever lived on earth are now extinct. It should not be surprising that many species now on earth are headed for the exit door.

The natural world is not a still life, where even the most fragile and ill-adapted creature is guaranteed a permanent spot on the canvas. Earth’s biosphere is a moving picture and every era has its dominant actor. Other species spend varying times on the stage, and then most of them disappear. All species can be threatened by natural Earth changes.

Humans are part of the natural world, and have survived so far because they have adapted to changing environments by using brains, hands, tools and natural resources.

Preservationists think that the human species should exert herculean efforts to preserve every dying species. Attempting to preserve environments of the past, they lock up land, sea and mineral resources, prohibit development and oppose water conservation. And now, in a vain attempt to preserve the climate of the recent past, they are crippling our energy supplies with futile mandates and taxes designed to force-feed “green energy”.

They should be free to engage in preservation activities at their own cost with their own property, but should not use governments to force our whole society down this risky road.

Our access to abundant, efficient, reliable energy is all that stands between us and widespread famine. If the “temperature pause” turns into global cooling, with less carbon dioxide plant food in the atmosphere, this danger will be multiplied.

We should not hasten our own demise with self-inflicted injuries.

Red tailed black cockatoos are threatened in my area. They only eat stringybark and buloke seeds. There are massive numbers of yellow tailed blacks. They eat pine seeds from the pine plantations and thrive on them. I like seeing the red tails but for goodness sake why can't they eat the pine cones. If a species is so damned finicky about its food, why should we stress about it?

Three Mile Island, Global Warming and the CIA

By Aletho News | January 9, 2012

This article will examine some of the connections between the US and UK National Security apparatus and the appearance of the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) theory beginning after the accident at Three Mile Island.

In the mid 1970s “climate cooling” was the topic of articles in popular magazines such as Newsweek with reports of meteorologists being “almost unanimous” that the trend could lead to catastrophic famines, another little ice age or worse.

In 1974 Time magazine published an article titled “Another Ice Age?.” In 1975 the New York Times ran an article titled “Scientists Ponder Why World’s Climate Is Changing; a Major Cooling Widely Considered to Be Inevitable,” while in 1978 they reported that “an international team of specialists has concluded from eight indexes of climate that there is no end in sight to the cooling trend of the last 30 years, at least in the Northern Hemisphere.”

While it may be true that the “newspaper of record” is not the best source for topics that go beyond the pronouncements of official or “off the record” statements from government agents, it is instructive that the message changed by the end of the decade, after the March 28, 1979 accident at Three Mile Island which had sounded the death knell for the nuclear power industry that is.

Daniel Yergin writes that by the early 1980s “a notable shift in the climate of climate change research was clear-from cooling to warming.”1 Yergin reports that the Department of Defense’s JASON committee had found “incontrovertible evidence that the atmosphere is indeed changing and that we ourselves contribute to that change,” adding “a wait-and-see policy may mean waiting until it is too late.” Political action was now being called for. That action would entail reducing carbon emissions, something which could be achieved through increased reliance on the now unpopular nuclear power industry................"

The global warming gravy train is running out of puff. I'm just looking forward to when all the big pushers of the scam, your Tim Flummerys, your Will Steffens, your David Karolys, Kevin Trenberths and the rest have to make their big humiliating climb-down. Trenberth said in 09: "The fact is we can't explain the lack of warming and it's a travesty that we can't." Back then the warming had stopped more than a decade previously, and the planet hasn't warmed since. They're looking more and more foolish! This is how it's going to go: They will continue to look more and more like deranged cultists as long as they deny the reality that their warming stopped last century, and at some point they'll realise it'd be better to admit defeat and move on. Then we'll sue them for every penny they have.

An excerpt from an excellent instruction on the science of weather -

Does global cooling cause heat-waves?

Could it be that global cooling causes heat-waves? Surely not! Yet it does! So let's investigate this further, but first a number of principles that we've explained before:
The usual temperature, climate and weather for any place on Earth, in any month of the year, is mainly dominated by the amount of sunshine and the amount of moisture. Latitude and season determine the amount of sunshine and thus warmth, whereas moisture has a moderating effect. Heat-waves are unusual spells of unusually warm days.

All moisture comes from the sea. It is transported through the air onto the land and some returns through rivers to the sea. Thus places near the sea receive more moisture than places far inland, reason why all continents have deserts in their centres.

Global temperature is dominated by the oceans because they have a much larger heat capacity than the land. Thus global temperature is best measured at sea.
When the planet cools, seas are colder than usual. Thus there is less evaporation and less moisture for the land. But it becomes worse, because winds tend to go from warmer to colder places. So on average, there is less sea wind and more land wind than usual. Thus more moisture than usual from the land, ends up in the sea. Conversely less moisture from the sea ends up on land.. The result is that the land becomes drier, sooner than usual, which gives rise to heat-waves. Nights, however, remain colder than usual. Thus the weather and climate become more desert-like.
Important points:
climate often works contrary to intuition.

measuring land temperatures is not a good way of measuring global temperature.

a cool(ing) sea makes heat-waves, droughts and bushfires more likely.

wherever cold seas flow past continents, they cause desert climates (California, Chile, Galapagos, etc.)

global cooling has an immediate effect on the land, and affects oceans much later due to their heat capacity.

global cooling makes heat-waves and droughts more likely, as well as bush fires.

global cooling diminishes agricultural production.

Howdy Viv*, I hope you have a wonderful Fathers Day Sunday*.Smile sent.

Bill Shorten -

"....In brief 2 people, Jeremy Heimans and David Madden formed GetUp in 2005, some information links have recently been closed, but they reign from one of several similar lobby groups, established in 1998, and a similar political lobby group. Heimans history links appear to now be missing, Madden has a history with the World Bank and the United Nations, both are included in the top 10 people who have influence in world politics, both have also been accused more than once of being Labor policy supporters, so is there connections?

Their first executives included Evan Thornley (Labor, Fabian Society) Bill Shorten (Labor) and Cate Faehrman (Greens) and more recently Skye Laris (Labor, Rann and Tony Burke) along with several Union officials, previously aligned with the Labor party.

The group advisory board with history in similar groups included Tony Lake (CIA, UN, Politics) Gary Hart (US senator) and Leon Fuerth (Advisor to Al Gore) as well as their largest donor George Soros.

GetUp’s donors have changed over the last few years, Australian workers unions are their largest donor, followed by individuals with similar connections to the picture already painted, Joseph Skrzynski a major donor, was just appointed a lucrative seat with SBS by the Labor Party, Ex Telstra, AUSTAR, and other multinational players divert past labor support, to donate heavily to GetUp, many dead ends from links relating to funding and the recent financials of GetUp make the story even more intriguing........"

California's water deficit will lead to ecological and economic collapse

In an almost perfect reflection of California's state budget deficits, the state is also running an unsustainable water deficit. It is a mathematical certainty that when you remove far more water from the aquifers than is being replenished, the amount of water remaining in those aquifers will eventually reach zero.

This "zero day" water reality is still psychologically denied by most Californians. If the reality of this situation were widely recognized, California would be experiencing a glut of real estate inventory as millions of homeowners tried to sell their properties and evacuate the state. The fact that the real estate market has not yet collapsed in California tells us that Californians are still living in a state of denial about the future of their water supply.

Even as California's water supply collapses by the day, local farmers and towns have few options other than drilling for more water. "Drill! Drill! Drill!" is the mantra of the day, creating an 18-month backlog for well drilling companies. Each new well that's drilled must seek to go deeper than the previous wells which are running dry. It's a literal race to the bottom which can only end in catastrophe.

Then again, a willful acceleration toward catastrophe is merely a sign of the times when it comes to human civilization. There is almost no area in which humans have ever achieved balance: not in fossil fuels, metals mining, fossil water exploitation, debt creation, industrial chemical contamination, ecological exploitation or even global population. It's almost as if the human race is determined to destroy itself while racing to see who can achieve self destruction first.

Language? I no nuffin, I did nuffin (said with top lip overlapping bottom) Don't get me started with language! Even some teachers know no better these days.

Put simply, nature experiments with species and develops where possible. Sometimes some of these fail, or their usefulness in nature expires.

DJT, not so many years ago there was no electricity but we did alright without it.

Oh you are so correct DJT. I just get cranky that they think they can suck us in.

DJT did you see the news on SBS last night. Apparently, coal is going to be the new cancer and life threat to us all in the future. Some Green so called expert on the subject.. Even stating that the little town in the Hunter Valley who's coal mine caught fire "somehow" will have terrible consequences. My mum and her brothers were bought up in a coal mining area of the North of UK. Right on top of pollution. They all lived well into their 90's. Funny how these rat bags bring things like this up when Australia is pushing coal. Abbotts Point etc.

Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars
Energy is recognized as the key to all activity on earth. Natural science is the study of the sources and control of natural energy, and social science, theoretically expressed as economics, is the study of the sources and control of social energy. Both are bookkeeping systems: mathematics. Therefore, mathematics is the primary energy science. And the bookkeeper can be king if the public can be kept ignorant of the methodology of the bookkeeping. All science is merely a means to an end. The means is knowledge. The end is control. Beyond this remains only one issue: Who will be the beneficiary? In 1954 this was the issue of primary concern. Although the so-called "moral issues" were raised, in view of the law of natural selection it was agreed that a nation or world of people who will not use their intelligence are no better than animals who do not have intelligence. Such people are beasts of burden and steaks on the table by choice and consent. Consequently, in the interest of future world order, peace, and tranquillity, it was decided to privately wage a quiet war against the American public with an ultimate objective of permanently shifting the natural and social energy (wealth) of the undisciplined and irresponsible many into the hands of the self-disciplined, responsible, and worthy few.
In order to implement this objective, it was necessary to create, secure, and apply new weapons which, as it turned out, were a class of weapons so subtle and sophisticated in their principle of operation and public appearance as to earn for themselves the name "silent weapons." In conclusion, the objective of economic research, as conducted by the magnates of capital (banking) and the industries of commodities (goods) and services, is the establishment of an economy which is totally predictable and manipulatable. In order to achieve a totally predictable economy, the low-class elements of society must be brought under total control, i.e., must be housebroken, trained, and assigned a yoke and long-term social duties from a very early age, before they have an opportunity to question the propriety of the matter. In order to achieve such conformity, the lower-class family unit must be disintegrated by a process of increasing preoccupation of the parents and the establishment of government-operated day-care centers for the occupationally orphaned children. The quality of education given to the lower class must be of the poorest sort, so that the moat of ignorance isolating the inferior class from the superior class is and remains incomprehensible to the inferior class. With such an initial handicap, even bright lower class individuals have little if any hope of extricating themselves from their assigned lot in life. This form of slavery is essential to maintain some measure of social order, peace, and tranquillity for the ruling upper class.
"Give me control over a nation's currency,
and I care not who makes its laws."
Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1743 - 1812)
Today's silent weapons technology is an outgrowth of a simple idea discovered, succinctly expressed, and effectively applied by the quoted Mr. Mayer Amschel Rothschild. Mr. Rothschild discovered the missing passive component of economic theory known as economic inductance. He, of course, did not think of his discovery in these 20th-century terms, and, to be sure, mathematical analysis had to wait for the Second Industrial Revolution, the rise of the theory of mechanics and electronics, and finally, the invention of the electronic computer before it could be effectively applied in the control of the world economy.
