That supposed to be funny? You folks with the wrong pigment for this side of the planet, hand my children your demon drink, packets of poison grass, and dress them in your childish tribal "football" outfits... then belittle them. But it makes you feel good, huh? 230 years of rent is due. Where's a send up cartoon of the royal adulterer and his British whore?

Poor kids - the hand out money should have never happened - it has achieved nothing - one wonders if the money stopped altogether would the Aborigines get sober and start looking after themselves - big ask - and of course all the bureaucrats and do gooders, the elders etc wouldn't get paid either - not such a bad thing - this is totally out of hand

...whats three things you can't give an Aboriginal......a black eye....a fat lip.... and a job......

Talk to the old Elders of each traditional tribe and they will inform you that the then Elders of each tribe expelled children of mixed blood to protect their gene pool because they feared being bred into extinction .

Leaving aboriginal children with disfunctional parents will result in more dysfunctional parents.

If you'd like a rare insight into what it was like for the aboriginals in the days before the Whitlam 'sit down money' came along and destroyed what was a not half bad system (granted, not perfect in any way), get your hands on "Nothing Prepared Me!" (with the exclamation mark) by Edna Quilpy, who was the first white woman to live long term in the Kimberlys. A very good read, which deals at some length with the before and after of sit down money and the effect this had on the aboriginals it was supposed to benefit..

Me thinks that the "stolen ones " , were the lucky ones.

I always had my doughts about this ""tribal home land ""stuff,.Especially when most of the country is deserted desert apart from a few white fellah owned and run mines or stations,The old people might be happy to wile away their last days on their trad, country, but for the young it condemns them to a life on the edge literally, the desert edge,Certainly many might be happy working on stations or as tour guides etc and good for them,But those that want some thing better should have the choice, sitting around on ""country "" will achieve little except new generations of drug and alcohol affected aboriginal youth.

I can hear the PC mob gearing up for a full onslaught Larry. Tell 'em all to go fuck themselves.

One person's trash is another person's treasure.

Where is Soupspoon?

Bloody sad, though, isn't it.
All of the money being spent, and the poor buggers, will still be in the same boat, waiting for someone to 'Paddle" it for them.
It is up to the people, to pull themselves out of the "mire". A will, a desire, to do something with their lives.
A pox on the do-gooders, and as I said, an absolute crying shame.

That will set the hand wringers off Larry! Too close to the truth maybe?

Good cartoon Larry. The Left will hound you like they hounded Bill Leak.
