If you would like to be involved or support the upkeep and further development of this site, it would be very welcome no matter how small.

Larry Pickering

Four-time Walkley Award winning political commentator and Churchill Fellow, has returned to the fray over concern that the integrity of news dissemination is continually being threatened by a partisan media.

Nikolai, sadly I must agree with that. He also has the protection of being a member of the religion of perpetual victimhood. This makes him almost immune.

Funny but no true to character if Bull Shorten had anyone asleep on a couch he would be shagging them, anybody!!!! A rapist does not change his spots!

Nikolai, the first line of that article said it all. It said that the prices COULD go up to $1. Not that it had gone up. You are falling into the leftist trap of sensationalist headline grabbing, without substance. The article also said that it was not a fait accompli, it is just an idea being floated. I still think that saving a few million bucks by ditching the boss of AP would be the logical first step.

I am not sure where you got your facts for the postage rise. Last time I checked the price of postage went from 65 cents (for a letter) to 70 cents. That certainly doesnt equate to 50%. I do however agree that there is no doubt that the leach running Australia Post should be given the swift boot without delay, that business is a basket case.

WoW multicultural Baird is just the ticket to get the LNP re elected by such a fine cut religious family who respects all faiths especially those who are buying favour with the ALP .

I shouldn't be able to comment as my log-in name has disappeared.

marigold: Clean cut and respectable doesn't mean he is the peoples Premier for my experience in the past of sending him emails in regards to government services I don't rate a reply from him instead someone further down the line which means nothing gets done .

These bussed in Union thugs turn out to be from the Electrical Trades Union so I am wondering why they aren't at work seeing they reckon unionism keeps Australia working .

This may be heartening news from the SMH—As the Premier launched the Liberal Party's official campaign in the Sydney CBD on Sunday, pledging to create 150,000 new jobs in a second term, the Fairfax/Ipsos poll shows the Coalition leading Labor by 54 to 46 per cent on a two-party-preferred basis.

This represents a 1 percentage point improvement for the Coalition since February.

If the result is replicated on Saturday, the Coalition would suffer a 10 per cent swing against it from the 2011 election but still retain government.

He just comes across as a hard working thoroughly decent human being, like his father. He's for the state, not himself.

mg, I believe Baird will romp home! The other is a fool to continue the "horror show". Its a wonder he didn't employ an Edvard Munch look-a-like, instead of that whining woman from back and beyond.

Now delete USA and insert Australia. This is exactly what is happening here!

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory
Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low
Income tenements and living off various forms of government

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
Democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
Already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase..

United States of America", Born 1776, Died 2016
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
The last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

During those 200
Years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always
Temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
Form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
The time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
Gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
Always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
The public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
Collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the
Beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200

Very interesting article -

Where in the Press does it say that the Chinese are "successfully" suing Palmer ? Why would he go bankrupt ? I take it you know nothing about anything .

Agree with what you say and I have two problems...I don't see why the top 10 executives running a Post Office should get $20m but you can't bring in the PM's remuneration as a comparison to any CEO because the PM gets this his it ? ..for life.

Nikolai is a troll, possibly a left wing rag from the Age or other left wing offerings for newspapers.
