John Robertson signed letter on behalf of Sydney siege gunman Monis

NSW Opposition leader John Roberston signed a letter on behalf of Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis in August 2011, two years after he was charged with sending offensive letters to the families of dead soldiers.

The letter, which will raise questions over Mr Robertson’s judgment just months before the state election, was sent in relation to a family dispute involving Monis and his former wife. Following the revelation of the letter’s existence this morning, Mr Robertson said he had sent his entire constituent file regarding Monis to the Joint Commonwealth and NSW Review into the Martin Place siege.

Monis “met with staff in my Blacktown electorate office on one occasion regarding a family custody matter in August 2011. He was seeking a supervised visit with his children on Father’s Day,” Mr Robertson said in a statement.

“Man Monis was a resident in the Blacktown electorate and his request was forwarded in a routine manner to the Department of Family & Community Services. The letter included all relevant information, including that he was subject to an AVO and there were ongoing family court proceedings."

“The request was refused by the Department in September 2011 and their response was forwarded to Man Monis.”

Monis was charged with sending offensive letters to dead soldier’s relatives in October 2009, finally pleaded guilty in September last year and was sentenced to perform 300 hours of community service.

The letters included one in which he told the grieving father he ‘can’t be proud” of his son, who ‘died for nothing” in an unjust war against an innocent people. Another included a anti-semitic rant sent to the family of slain Digger Gregory Sher, a Jew, which was subsequently described by a judge as “grossly offensive and deplorable”.

The case was widely publicised at the time.

A spokesman for Mr Robertson said he would not be releasing the letter publicly but would support any decision made by the Joint Review to do so in the future.

NSW Labor leader, John Roberston, signed a letter on behalf of Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis in August 2011, two years after he was charged with sending offensive letters to the families of dead soldiers. The letter, which will raise questions over Mr Robertson’s judgment just months before the state election, was sent in relation to a family dispute involving Monis and his former wife. Monis “met with staff in my Blacktown electorate office on one occasion regarding a family custody matter in August 2011. He was seeking a supervised visit with his children." Yes sir folks, John Robertson has the makings of a fine, upstanding, Labor fuck-head.

A Muslim group has agreed to accept the body of the Lindt Café terrorist and will conduct a low-key Islamic funeral ceremony. (I would love to know the name of this Muslim group or are they his supporters) .The news of an interment follows a report on Friday in which some Muslim leaders had called for the murderer’s body to be dumped at sea. Sydney’s chief Islamic funeral director declared last week that no Muslim funeral home would accept the body and authorities should just dump his corpse at sea or “chuck him in the bloody shithouse” - Ha Ha Ha, at least he was not buried by sundown on the day of his death as is the Muslim custom.

Maybe the caption could have read "Oh Did I mention Before I left For Centrelink, Grandpa Might Pop In Today Sometime"

A classic! Thanks Larry.

I don't think you typical muslim would give a stuff, just keep chocking away. Allahu akbar!

On a slightly different note if the NSW Opposition Leader John Robertson assisted Man Monis in his bid for access to his children in the full knowledge of his AVO & his putrid past in sending the foul letters to the families of soldiers who died in Afghanistan why did he do it? Was this standing side by side with our Muslim Brothers or just a blatant attempt for votes at any cost? If Labor MP Kelvin Thomson resigned from the front bench when it was revealed he tried to assist Tony Mokbel when is Robertson going to have the same scruples as his fellow Labor/Union buddy, do I wait holding mu breath, maybe not after all Political Power trumps scruples every time ask Julia, Craig, Michael, Gogh, Kevin, Bob, Bill, Neville, Paul, Richo .......the list is too long.

well worth seeing again..........

Mayor of Capital city was tiring of the pigeons and doves ruining the beautiful city. Put an Ad in paper advertising for anyone who could rid the city of these birds forever. Offer of One Million Two days later man called him, offering his services but did not want the One Million UNLESS the Mayor asked him a question - Agreed. Next day man arrived with a magnificent blue Dove in a cage - let him out and all the pigeons and doves followed him - and have NEVER returned. Mayor said to man - prepared to pay the One Million - have a question - OK - what is it - "You wouldn't have a blue Muslim would you"?

The only thing missing is Billy the goat with a thankful smile that it wasn't him.

The look on the Arab's face is priceless ! ! Well done Larry.

Excellent. This is probably why males don't wear these stupid rags.
