Egypt has a simple way of dealing with a media that seeks to destroy the country. Is there a lesson for us in respect of biased or untrue reporting. My mind pictures the subsequent cartoon , and the characters peering out !!

Mr Greste, is lucky he didn't do that in East Timor, 5 were shot and Gough, Fraser and Hawke covered it up!

Rosebud!

When Nixon and Brezhnev had a summit - it was decided that they would also run a race.

The Washington Post reported that Nixon came first and Brezhnev came last.
Pravda reported that Brezhnev came second and Nixon came second last.

News should be just that - news - and opinion should not be confused with news. The two are very different.

It's okay. It won't happen until those Stone Age camel shaggers completely take over our country......which may take even 10-15 years :-(((

sounds reasonable to me.

Classic* .Merci! Thank you for noticing Mr Larry*P*

Hey may be instead of criticising Egypt maybe we should be following their lead...
You would have most of the ABC and half of Fairfax locked up.....

Larry, that sums it up. What a pathetic bunch of sycophants at the ABC and Fairfax who have forgotten that journalism demands ethics, integrity and honesty in their reporting. They have forgotten that they own allegiance to the populace, not their political leanings. May they rot in hell.

I watched the start of Parliament today and the PM announcing about what it had done to assist Greste. Soon it was Shortons turn and he said that there would be bi-partisan agreement from Labor. He then proceeded to say that no journalist should be shut down like Greste had. Then I remembered how this Labor party/Greens not 12 months ago - AND INSIDE A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY - had tried to introduce legislation to shut down conservative media (Murdoch) in Australia. What a rotten hypocrite Shorton is. He stood behind Gillard and Conroy salivating at the thought that there would be no more criticisms of Labor by conservative bloggers etc. My Lord. They critisize this lot, but is Shorton any different??! No!
