For at least a decade we have been told by the UN/IPCC, by most government media and officials, by many politicians, and by the Green “charities” and their media friends that “the climate science is settled”.
When man first appeared on Earth he had no implements, no clothes, no farms and no mineral fuels – his only tools were his brains, hands and muscles.
The Carbon Sense Coalition today urged people to celebrate the true green fuels – oil, coal, gas, nuclear and, in places, geothermal and hydro. The Chairman of “Carbon Sense”, Mr Viv Forbes, said in a Press release this week that these fuels have reduced man’s pressure on the environment to such an extent that they should be celebrated on “Earth Day”.
For decades Australian governments have waged a pointless war on industries producing carbon dioxide using taxes, emissions targets, direct action, harassment of coal and gas explorers and bankers, and promotion of expensive weather-dependent green energy. This has damaged all metals industries – iron and steel, copper, nickel, aluminium, lead and zinc.
The relentless war on carbon is justified by the false assumption that global temperature is controlled by human production of two carbon-bearing “Greenhouse Gases”. The scary forecasts of runaway heating are based on complicated but narrowly-focussed carbon-centric computerised Global Circulation Models built for the UN IPCC.
Recent headlines exulted: “Real estate makes bigger profits than mining”.... This is an omen, not a signal to celebrate.
Those who think the political war on carbon will lower Earth’s temperature or keep climate stable need to study climate history. Temperatures on Earth dance to a cyclic rhythm every hour, every day, every month, every season, every year, and to every beat of the sun-spot and glacial cycles.
