Australia has never been an "overly" racist country... we have had a few racist townships but that began after the 1960s when the do-gooders wanted to do "the right thing" and allow the indigenous peoples access to the grog... and we all know how that went.
Saw a little of Q&A last night and, although I am not a fan of Australian country music, as much of it sounds just like American country music, I have nothing personal against Troy Cassar-Daley.
Since September 2001, thirteen years have passed, despite the fact that it seems just like yesterday. Since that fateful day on the 11th of September, the world has changed forever... and sadly it is reaching a stage where western democratic Governments are going to have to take firm action in regard to the mass violence being perpetrated in so many Islamic countries in the Middle East and North and Central Africa.
For all of you going on about what a great tough guy Putin is, I suggest you stop and take a look at the man. Putin is ex-KGB and military. He is known to have associations with the Russian mob and has gone to great lengths to "remove from circulation" anyone he has considered a threat to his power in Russia.
Have a look at the joint! No, seriously, have a good look around the place, is there anything nice going on? We currently have the greatest potential for world-wide conflict since WWII and right now we are sitting on a time bomb.
Even before good old Mohammed came along, the Middle East was already a highly “tribalised” place. They all had their different groups with their Sultans (warlords) with their differing loyalties. It was a lot like England in the middle ages with different groups vying for power and arranging marriages to keep alliances together.
Gee! Really upset about those headlines, you know the ones that said asylum seekers take lawyers’ advice and refuse to talk to Indian officials and get shunted off to Nauru. “They were offered a good deal but refused to take it”, said Morrison.
Remember Albo Sleazy saying that Tony Abbott had no idea about diplomacy? Remember that jerk Burke saying that Tony Abbott was embarrassing Australia in Indonesia? Remember Tania Pilberjerk calling Tony Abbott “Nigel No-friends” when it came to diplomacy? Remember what Short Willy Shorten said? No, neither can I because nobody seems to remember what Shorten says. But I know that he said something equally derogatory.
Imagine Australia as a public company ... Australia Co. Now let's say Australia Co. was being pretty badly run, in fact let's say those who were running the business for the previous six years had just about screwed the business into the ground.
Over the past few days we have had a boatload of supposed asylum seekers supposedly from “India”, but really from “Sri Lanka”, and the people who knew more about it than anyone else were members of the Greens, the ALP and immigration “activist” Ian Rintool... now I am as cranky as all hell!
I opened my copy of this morning’s Oz newspaper to be greeted with this headline: “Allow ABC to charge for content”. Well, my immediate reaction was, “Bloody Palmer, that moron, just another of his hare-brained ideas”. But hey! I was completely off base, it was some committee’s recommendation. “Savings and revenue stream options.”
Remember, before the election when lots of people were calling for a Royal Commission into the AWU and union operations in general and Tony Abbott was rather circumspect about it all? He stated that he did not want to jeopardise an ongoing police investigation.
You have obviously seen the revelations in last week’s Oz that dear old Clive O’Saurus has quietly resigned as a director from his flagship company Mineralogy. Wonder why that is?
