He was offered a Knighthood but declined it. He was offered the title of Poet Laureate but declined it. He received a Nobel Prize for Literature (I don’t think he was given a chance to decline that one).
Over the last few years I, like many others, have been concerned about the proliferation of mosques in Australia and around the Western World.
Dear Pickering Posters, First the good news. As usual, rumours of Larry’s death have been greatly exaggerated. He has had some radiation therapy as explained in the previous post and is doing well. He is however, taking some well-earned R and R as the treatment is a little taxing.
Due to a current radiation regime lasting 20 days I am unable during this period to give the PP blog the attention it deserves. I will return when the radiation is completed and I hope you will resist the trolls in the interim.Thank you, Larry
The never Trumpers must surely now reconsider him as likely to be America’s greatest ever President. For those who still have a preference for Obama and Clinton please consider this:
Outspoken Muslim Member of the Lower House, Labor’s Anne Aly, has been keeping a low profile since she notified the House last year that she had sent a request to Egyptian authorities to nullify her nationality 10 days before the close of nominations for her seat of Cowan.
A five maybe six billion dollar budget surplus makes a very small hole in a five or six hundred billion dollar debt. And who’s to say any government will use any small projected surplus to pay down the deficit? Certainly not Labor.
In the last several years I have observed many “Acknowledgment of Country” ceremonies. The wording varies but typically, at the start of a meeting, the master of ceremonies declares that the meeting is being held on the traditional lands of a particular indigenous people or peoples in general.
Trump asked for $67 billion for his 3,000 mile wall… they gave him enough for a few hundred yards. DC is mostly united against his wall, but does the Don really need the bloody thing? No, he doesn’t.
NBN, NDIS, GONSKI, FINKEL… all part of a failed Rudd, Gillard, Rudd era but re-invented by Turnbull. The NBN was never on budget and can never be a success, because no-one will buy it at what it cost to build it, so it will always remain a large part of our deficit.
There are three big drivers of weather for any place on Earth – the latitude, the local environment and solar system cycles.
There would be very few Aussie Rules followers, players or officials who were not aware of Bomber’s cocaine habit and his association with bikies. Perhaps the coppers only took an interest when he was accused of gravitating to dealing in ice. http://pickeringpost.com/story/bomber-thomson-is-the-cokehead-but-it-s-the-afl-that-should-be-in-gaol-/7890
Ha, we know South Korea’s little Lefty pacifist, Moon Jae-in, has fallen for it with his overly extended cuddles and sickeningly long pudgy hand clasps, but common sense says Little Rocket Man is up to something dodgy and the Don is not short on common sense.
And that is not what our vote was intended to reflect. The knifing of a first term successful PM was also not intended to reflect our so-called democratic voting system. But there you go… it has happened more than once and it has eroded the value of our vote. Who in their right mind would vote for Turnbull’s Party, and who in their right mind would vote for Shorten’s. No-one in their right mind would vote for either.
